This isn't much... just pushing around some clip-art, but it's the statement that's the thing. Please feel free to redistribute this image--post it in your blog, whatever. All I ask is that you keep the copyright info intact, and you upload it to your own server if possible.

Yes, and the Commander-in-Thief's recent stance on making an Amendment to make same-sex marriages unconstitutional just makes this pic all the more topical.

Right on. The government should not have any say in this sort of thing. When the government tries to say that marriage is for hetero couples only, it is only backing up the religious fanatics. Especially since a lot of the decision makers listen to two things: their religion-based morals, and money. If the government is going to grant benefits to married couples, then the government shouldn't decide what constitutes a "married couple" based on sex. You know, seperation of church and state - that sort of thing. But no matter how you argue it, the government does have ties to religion. Just look at the pledge of allegiance. That part about "under God" was only added (it was not in the original version) during the Cold War, as anti-communist propaganda (because Communism is atheistic).
